Memory of David Carter (1945-2020)

David Carter, a devoted husband, father, and grandfather, passed away peacefully on January 25, 2023, at the age of 85. Born on March 10, 1938, in Omaha, Nebraska, David was a man of integrity, wisdom, and warmth who touched the lives of everyone he met.

After serving in the U.S. Air Force, David pursued a career in engineering, where he was known for his innovative spirit and commitment to excellence. Outside of his professional life, he was a passionate woodworker who created everything from handmade furniture to intricate birdhouses.

David was happiest spending time with his family, fishing by the lake, or cheering on his beloved Nebraska Cornhuskers. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Eleanor; his children, Mark (Susan) Carter and Karen (Paul) Simmons; and his grandchildren, Lily, Benjamin, and Max.

A memorial service will be held on February 4, 2023, at 11:00 AM at Grace Lutheran Church in Omaha. The family requests that memorial donations be made to Habitat for Humanity in David's honor.
